Preparing Christmas Cards

It's that time of the year again. My friend has another friend who is interested to order Christmas cards from me. I just got back from New York and bought fancy patterned papers from Michaels. So, I'll be very busy this weekend to conceptualize the holiday cards' designs. I'll make around 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 cards this time. The bigger cards I had made last year were hard to sell. This time it'll be small and I'll make them in sets. That way, if the buyer decides to buy just one, I'll charge a different rate but if the cards are bought in sets, I'll be disposing more.

Halloween Spook Fest!

I have been quite for a while because I was busy creating Halloween cards. Although, Halloween is not highly celebrated occasion here in the Middle East, I still decided to create some funky and funny-looking cards to give away.

Most of the patterned papers are I used were taken from scrapbook online sites which offer free patterned papers. The card stocks are A5 and folded. I used a creme colored satin ribbon for my "cute mummy." The googly eyes were from the craft shop here. I also inked the sides of the cardstocks for more vintage look and appeal with pigment inks. The background paper I used for the haunted house was from my stash of used cardstock which I crumpled and made to look distressed. I inked it further with Tim Holtz distress ink and other dark pigment inks I have for a more scary and dark look. The owl pattern is my own. I just doodled a slightly egg-ish shape and cut it. I used pastel color to highlight the feather-like strokes on the tummy area and of course, most of my ghoulish monsters were decked with cute googly eyes for effect. Some of my embellishments were adhered using foam pads for dimension. Lastly, the alphabets I used are stickers from Bo Bunny (which happens to be my fave brand!). The Boo-Hoo alphabets on the spooky owl card are cut outs from magazine which I glued on a black cardstock.

I hope you all like them!

Latest Scrapbook Loot!

Yipee! Hubby allowed me to purchase some pps and other stuff for my scrapbook. Last time I purchased was in July in Manila and Bangkok. I had to justify the need for new supplies as I ran out of patterned papers and cardstock for the pages I created few days ago. So, without further ado, here are my latest loot!

I just love Bo Bunny and Fancy Pants pps. I do buy other brands too but I tend to check their stocks first whenever I visit the local scrapbook store here in Dubai - Paperlane in Jumeirah Town Centre.

Back and Kicking!

I am so sorry for not posting anything here. I was busy with my main blog. I have been posting my creations there too which makes me very guilty. I created this blog to post my arts and craft creations and yet, I fail to deliver.

Anyway, I have tons and tons of projects over the past few months. I have yet to organize them and upload them somewhere free. Photobucket is now charging and my primary account holds too many photos to accommodate more of my cards.

As soon as I finish organizing and labeling my work, I will definitely post them here. Imagine missing so many occasions and the cards I have made for that!

Been Quiet

I'm sorry for not posting here for a long time. I was contemplating whether to continue posting here or just in my main blog. However, I felt it that this place is the right medium for me to showcase my creativity. So, I will continue to post my creative cards here. I just hope people will like and appreciate my creations.
